Register for our IV certification class in Orange County.

In addition to practical training, our program covers medical terminology and anatomy as it pertains to phlebotomy. You will learn blood sampling procedures, laboratory safety, effective patient communication, and the proper methods to clean up spills to prevent infection.

The Phlebotomy Technician Training Program Includes:

Basic and Advanced Didactic Classroom Instruction

Our program includes 20 hours of basic didactic classroom instruction and 20 hours of advanced didactic classroom instruction. This provides a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge before beginning the hands-on lab work.

Practical, Hands-On Training

We provide practical, hands-on training over venipuncture practices and safety procedures, including additional open lab hours for more practice prior to assignment to externship and/or in preparation for job interviews.

40 Hour Externship

Once you successfully finish the classroom portion of the program, you will complete your training at one of our state-approved externship sites such as a hospital, physician’s office or patient service center. The schedule will vary dependent upon each site’s specific requirements, and specific locations and schedules are discussed during the enrollment process.

CDPH Approval

AHC’s Phlebotomy Program is approved by the California Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services, to teach both the Full and Advanced Phlebotomy Technician courses that lead to a CPT I license. Our program meets the state’s strict requirements for phlebotomy training.
